no wonder I couldn't figure it out

So I saw a sign today explaining the way cab fares work here. It's no wonder I was having trouble figuring out the system.

First 2km - 1500won
Every 176m thereafter - 100won
Every 43 seconds of waiting time (under 15km/h) - 100won

WHO THE CRAP chooses numbers that are that random? 176 metres? I'm not actually complaining, cause it's still really cheap to take a taxi - WAY cheaper than in Canada, but STILL!

176m is definitely an interesting choice of distance. Retreat was okay this weekend, but we really missed you guys. Take care :)

Gramma said, love your apartment and get used to not being able to make sense of signs. Very few streets in Kiev have them and when they do, they are often posted on the corner of a building or on a tree or fence.. you have to know your way.
And San Jose, CR is similiar - there they describe a location as "between Water and George St, about halfway down the block". I have a warranty list that I can't find right now that describes the CR location in just such a way. A mystery. Loved the lingerie sign though.
Sorry to be so long responding but we have been literally swamped since returning in August. But you're a forgiving sort, right? Much love from the Manitoulin duo
